We are seeking a highly experienced Vice President of Finance to provide senior finance, accounting, reporting, analysis, documentation, and advisory support.

This role is ideal for a senior finance professional who is comfortable working with complex financial information, evolving priorities, executive-level reporting, and high-level business decision-making.

About the Role:

The Vice President of Finance will be responsible for reviewing, organizing, analyzing, and reporting on financial, accounting, banking, tax, payroll, ownership, investment, corporate, vendor, client, receivable, payable, budgeting, forecasting, and related records.

This role requires someone who can quickly assess the current state of financial information, identify gaps and risks, organize priorities, create clear reporting, and support management with practical finance recommendations.


The scope of work may evolve based on business needs, document review, access to records, finance priorities, and special projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include

    • Reviewing, organizing, summarizing, analyzing, and reconciling financial, accounting, banking, tax, payroll, ownership, investment, corporate, legal, vendor, client, receivable, payable, budgeting, forecasting, and related records
    • Assessing financial information and identifying gaps, risks, inconsistencies, missing records, reporting issues, process issues, and control concerns
    • Preparing summaries, trackers, reconciliations, reports, dashboards, financial models, schedules, workpapers, memoranda, executive updates, and other finance-related deliverables
    • Supporting document review, document organization, file structure, naming conventions, record completeness, and document-readiness work
    • Supporting cash-flow visibility, budget review, forecasting, management reporting, financial controls, finance processes, and other operational finance matters
    • Coordinating with internal team members, accountants, bookkeepers, lawyers, tax advisors, lenders, vendors, consultants, and other advisors when required
    • Providing clear recommendations, status updates, questions, assumptions, limitations, and next steps to support finance operations and management decision-making
    • Assisting with special projects, transition work, document review, management reporting, process improvement, and other senior finance support as needed

Required Experience and Qualifications:

The successful candidate should have

    • 10+ years of progressive finance, accounting, controllership, FP&A, corporate finance, or senior financial management experience
    • 5+ years in a senior finance leadership role, such as VP Finance, Director of Finance, Controller, Head of Finance, or similar
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field required
    • CPA, CA, CMA, CGA, MBA, or equivalent senior finance designation strongly preferred
    • Strong experience reviewing and analyzing complex financial records, reports, reconciliations, budgets, forecasts, and supporting documentation
    • Advanced understanding of financial reporting, cash-flow management, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and finance operations
    • Experience preparing executive-level reports, financial models, dashboards, trackers, memoranda, summaries, and management updates
    • Strong ability to identify financial gaps, inconsistencies, process issues, control concerns, risks, and priority action items
    • Experience working with accountants, bookkeepers, tax advisors, legal advisors, lenders, vendors, consultants, and executive stakeholders
    • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills, including financial modelling, reconciliations, reporting, and data organization
    • Experience working with accounting systems, financial records, corporate documentation, vendor records, receivables, payables, payroll records, budgets, and forecasts
    • Real estate accounting, property management accounting, asset management, development accounting, or related real estate finance experience is considered a strong asset
    • Excellent written communication, documentation, and presentation skills
    • High level of professionalism, judgment, discretion, organization, and attention to detail
    • Ability to manage evolving priorities, work independently, and provide clear recommendations with limited supervision

The ideal candidate is a senior finance professional who can step into a complex financial environment, quickly understand the current state of records and reporting, and help bring structure, clarity, and accountability to the finance function.

You should be highly analytical, organized, practical, and comfortable working with senior management. You should also be able to separate urgent issues from lower-priority items, communicate clearly, and produce high-quality finance work that supports business decision-making.
